Membership

Any member of the Ramblers' Association or who is specifically a member of the Blackheath Group can come on our walks.  Anyone can apply to join the Ramblers.   It is also possible to try us out for a couple of months before you decide if you want to join. To find out how to become a new member visit www.ramblers.co.uk or contact our Secretary by sending us an email, using the link to our feedback form below.

We offer newcomers the chance to have one of our programmes for free in order that they can test us out before they join.  However after this, they have to join before they receive any further programmes.  To get a trial  programme and leave your full postal address for details to be sent on. Email us

Current Members

If you are a member of the Blackheath group, you automatically get a programme sent to you in the post.  If you are a current member of another group of the Ramblers' Association and move address to within our postal catchment area, you will be allocated automatically by the central RA to our Group, or if you ask Head Office to be transferred to our Group, you will then be sent our Programme automatically.

Recently New Members

When you join the Blackheath Group, you will be sent an official confirmation of your membership from Central Office.  This will give you details of your membership and the name of your local group.  The RA central office then writes to the Blackheath Membership Secretary every two weeks to update the current membership list.  So if you have joined recently, you may wait several weeks before receiving your first programme.  To order a programme in the meantime, please contact the Membership Secretary at blackrammemsec@googlemail.com. If you are a current member, please contact blackrammemsec@googlemail.com for queries about membership issues; i.e. changes to address, unreceived mailings etc.

If you are a member of another group you can either contact the Membership Secretary at blackrammemsec@googlemail.com  to receive brief details of our walks, or you can become an Associate Member.

Associate Membership

If you belong to another Group but would like to receive our Programme, you can become an Associate Member. To do this, send your RA Membership number, and a cheque, postal order or stamps to the value of £2 made payable to 'Blackheath Group of the Ramblers' Association', to the Treasurer, Ms Lesley Secker, at 18 Merlin's Avenue, Harrow, HA2 9ES.

You will then be sent programmes from the Blackheath group for that year.  A form will be enclosed with the final Programme of the year inviting you to renew your Associate Membership.
